A14/W14 - Earth Fault (Ground Fault) fault in danfoss drive

Cause: There is a current leakage from an output phase to ground, either in the motor cable or within the motor itself.
Solution:
  • Disconnect the motor from the drive and run the drive. If the fault does not reappear, the fault is in the motor or its cabling.
  • Use a megohmmeter to test the insulation resistance of the motor and motor cables.
  • If the fault persists with the motor disconnected, the issue is likely within the drive's power board (e.g., shorted IGBTs or DC link capacitors).
