Batt / LoBat Keypad Battery Low fault in Toshiba drive
Batt / LoBat Keypad Battery Low fault in Toshiba drive
Description Some advanced graphical keypads (LCD type) contain a Real-Time Clock (RTC) for time-stamping faults. These keypads use a coin-cell battery (CR2032 usually) to keep the time when power is off. "Batt" is a warning that this battery is dead. It does not stop the drive, but it means your fault history logs will have incorrect dates (e.g., year 2000). Causes
1. Age: The battery typically lasts 3-5 years.
2. Storage: The drive sat on a shelf for years before installation; the battery drained. Solution This is a simple maintenance task.
1. Power down the drive. 2. Remove the keypad from the drive face. 3. Open the battery compartment on the back of the keypad (often a small coin-slot cover). 4. Replace the CR2032 battery. 5. Re-attach keypad and power up. 6. Important: You must now go into the "Date/Time" settings menu and set the current clock. The warning will disappear once the valid time is set.
