OPE4 Multi-Function Input Error fault in delta drive
OPE4 Multi-Function Input Error fault in delta drive troubleshooting
Description
OPE4 is the most common configuration mistake. Delta drives allow you to assign functions (like Reset, External Fault, Speed 1, Speed 2) to the physical terminal blocks (MI1, MI2, MI3). The OPE4 fault triggers if you assign the same function to two different terminals simultaneously.
Causes
1. Duplicate Assignment: You set Parameter 02-01 (MI1) to "Reset" (Function 5) and also accidentally set 02-02 (MI2) to "Reset" (Function 5).
2. Logic Conflict: You assigned "3-Wire Operation" to MI1 but didn't assign the required "Run" command to MI2, or assigned incompatible logic states.
3. Card Overlay: If an extension I/O card is installed, an input on the main board and an input on the card are assigned the same ID.
Solution
Resolve the overlap:
1. Check Parameters: Go through Group 02 (Digital Inputs). Ensure every value (02-01 through 02-08) is unique.
2. Reset to Default: If you cannot find the duplicate, perform a Factory Reset to clear all input assignments and start fresh.
3. Check Dependencies: Some functions (like 3-wire control) automatically reserve multiple inputs. Read the manual for "Pr.02-00" carefully.
