PHE Position Phasing Error fault in delta drive

PHE Position Phasing Error fault in delta drive troubleshooting

Description

PHE applies to servo-like applications (Point-to-Point position control) using a VFD. It means the drive lost count of the position pulses or failed to find the "Z-phase" (Zero pulse) during the homing sequence.

Causes

1. Encoder Noise: Missing pulses due to EMI noise causes the position count to drift.
2. Z-Pulse Missing: The encoder is not outputting the single "Zero" pulse per revolution.
3. Wiring Swap: A/B phase wiring is swapped or inverted.

Solution

Encoder diagnostic:
1. Shielding: Ensure encoder cable shield is grounded 360-degrees at the drive end.
2. Check Z-Phase: Verify the Z-channel wiring.
3. Homing: Re-run the homing routine. Slow down the homing speed to ensure the sensor captures the Z-pulse accurately.
