rC Retry Count Exceeded fault in delta drive

rC Retry Count Exceeded fault in delta drive troubleshooting

Description

The rC code explains why the drive has finally stopped after a series of faults. If "Auto-Restart after Fault" is enabled (Pr. 07-xx), the drive will try to reset itself (e.g., 10 times). If the fault persists after the 10th try, it displays rC to tell you "I tried 10 times, but the problem is still there."

Causes

1. Persistent Fault: The underlying issue (like Over-current or Over-voltage) is permanent, not transient.
2. Too Few Retries: The retry count was set to a low number (e.g., 1).
3. Critical Fault: Some faults (like GFF or Short Circuit) cannot be auto-reset; they trigger rC immediately.

Solution

Investigate the root cause:
1. Check History: Look at the Fault History (Group 06) to see what fault caused the retries (e.g., was it ocA or ovd?).
2. Fix Root Cause: Do not just increase the retry count. Fix the short or load issue.
3. Disable: For safety during troubleshooting, set "Number of Auto-Restarts" to 0.
