F0001 indicates an Overcurrent fault. This triggers when the drive detects an output current exceeding its safe operating limit, forcing an immediate shutdown to protect the internal hardware (IGBTs) from damage

Common Causes
  • Short Circuit: A short circuit in the motor windings, terminal box, or motor cables.
  • Earth Fault: Current leaking from the live conductors to the ground in the motor cable.
  • Mechanical Jam: A mechanical blockage (like a stuck pump, jammed conveyor) causing the motor to stall and draw locked-rotor current.
  • Drive Sizing: The motor is physically too large for the VFD's rated capacity.
How to Troubleshoot
  1. Disconnect the Motor Cable: Unhook the motor wires at the drive's output terminals (U, V, W) and run the VFD. If the F0001 fault still appears, the drive's internal hardware (power section or IGBTs) is likely damaged and requires replacement.
  2. Check Motor & Cables: If the drive doesn't trip with the motor disconnected, use a Megger to test the motor and cables for insulation breakdown or earth faults.
  3. Check Mechanical Load: Ensure the motor shaft and connected machine can rotate freely and are not obstructed or overloaded.
